to fall into the programming trance is [[blog:2011:06:09:1|a lot like falling asleep]]. different methods can be used. music is nice companion to me, in many cases. if i need to focus, it must be special type of music. rather silent, rhythmic, slow, rather no lyrics... [[wp>dead can dance]] usually works pretty well, soundtracks are often nice (for example soundtrack from [[wp>Monsters (2010 film)|Monsters]] is the good one).

a friend of mine sent me an interesting link -- [[http://musicforprogramming.net|musicforprogramming]] page contains prepared compilations of many tracks, performed by various artists, that suit quite well to programming (at least for me). have a look & enjoy... :)
