2026-10-01 - Jevons paradox

Jevons paradox says that if efficiency of something increases (and thus costs goes down), then its usage increases.

this kinda backfired interestingly when paper printers were invented. it was said that this will _decrease_ the amount of paper used, since all typos can be fixed on computer and then the final product can be printed out. in practice paper usage has skyrocketed, as it was now cheap to create quality-looking documents.
