i personally bought IP video camera that is powered via the same power cord as the printer itself. whenever i turn on my printer, camera is detected in the network, by the server, and recording automatically starts to NAS, for later access. nice, simple and powerful. i personally bought IP video camera that is powered via the same power cord as the printer itself. whenever i turn on my printer, camera is detected in the network, by the server, and recording automatically starts to NAS, for later access. nice, simple and powerful.

+as described previously, end-of-filament sensor is a great thing. your printer can then automatically pause when no more filament is available (either broken or out of the spool). keep in mind though, that this is not a silver bullet. it will neither detect filament being stuck (not moving) nor extruder loosing steps. it is worth keeping in mind.
