i was constantly annoyed about date display format in thunderbird. since i use EN/US system settings, i got “month/day/year” display and no reasonable alternative. some time ago i giv ea try to PL language settings – got “day/month/year”. a bit better, but still…
dunno why ppl still use silly formats. there is a nice, clear and readable form defined by ISO: YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS+TZ. that's it. it gets sorted nicely, look natural and is standard.
fortunately there's a nice plugin for thunderbird, that solves date display issues once and for all. it simply allows you to type in the format you like. and so: %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S and we're good. i wonder why it is not a build-in option for thunderbird, any way.
