2012.04.29 - error correction

matrix failure errors are regular events – they are the norm, not the odds. they do happen and happen often (at scale). some people think that their code is error-free (sometimes such an opinion is disguised as “i've never seen an error in whateverthesystemsnameis”). they are obviously wrong, but the point is, that even if they weren't, they'd still need perform checks on their data. why? because an error can randomly appear. soft errors are the reality now. but this is not over… i recommend you an excellent article on errors and a need for detection of them. it is a weekend – a nice time to enjoy the knowledge. :)
