2026-10-01 - Chesterton's fence

Chesterton's fence states that no fence shall be removed, until it is well understood what it was meant for. idea being that sometimes even things that look completely broken and out of place, might have a less obvious reason for their existence. if we tear it down, without a full understanding what we're doing, we can bring more harm than good. here's a bit longer explanation of that.
